The Faculty of Engineering & Computer Sciences was established in the year 2018. To provide thorough learning, the faculty keeps itself up to date with the latest trends and developments. We understand that our country needs skilled engineers in every sector. To meet this growing demand, the Faculty has set up many labs with every required equipment with adequate space and skilled trainers such that the student would able to prove his/her worth successfully in the field of manufacturing, servicing, marketing, software and overall management of industries. The faculty is well equipped with labs like computer lab, language lab, central work shop, fluid mechanics & hydraulic machine, material testing, mechanical measurement, heat power, refrigeration & air conditioning, applied mechanics & machine dynamics, CAD/CAM, simulation & modelling to teach and train the students with latest knowledge and software.

ABOUT THE PROGRAMME

Objectives

Diploma offers more practical sessions than theory which aids to improve the competency levels of students. Students will become junior engineer in the industries associated with Engineering and can also start their own new firms. They will be able to communicate proficiently and collaborate successfully with peers, colleagues and organizations. Diploma candidates are qualified to get better job opportunities, immediately after matriculation, so students will acquire necessary skills and continued learning to adopt and create new applications.

After successful completion of Diploma in Engineering course, students can either continue further Engineering studies in undergraduate level or get employment as Junior Engineers/ technicians/supervisors, CAD/CAM  programmer and junior instructors.

Programme Outcome

Diploma Engineers will be able to:-

  • Basic and Discipline specific knowledge: Apply knowledge of basic mathematics, science and engineering fundamentals and engineering specialization to solve the engineering problems.
  • Problem analysis: Identify and analyse well-defined engineering problems using codified standard methods.

  • Engineering Tools, Experimentation and Testing: Apply modern engineering tools and appropriate technique to conduct standard tests and measurements.
  • Engineering practices for society, sustainability and environment: Apply appropriate technology in context of society, sustainability, environment and ethical practices.
  • Project Management: Use engineering management principles individually, as a team member or a leader to manage projects and effectively communicate about well-defined engineering activities.

ELIGIBILITY AND ADMISSION

Eligibility

Passed 10+2 examination with Physics/Mathematics/Chemistry/Computer Science/Electronics/Information Technology/Bilogy/Informatics Practices/Biotechnology/Technical Vocational Subject/Agriculture/Engineering Graphics/Business Studies/Entrepreneurship. (Any of the three).

OR

10+(2 years ITI) with appropriate Trade in that order shall be eligible for admission to Second Year Diploma Course(s) of appropriate programme.

Admission Process

They may also download the application form from the website of the University and may submit along with the relevant documents to the Information Centre of the University. They may also walk down to the University campus along with relevant documents to the Information centre for counselling and further admission process.

Applicants may submit the application form and required documents at the Admission Office personally or by post. It is the applicant's responsibility to ensure that the application form is complete in all respects, and is accompanied by the required documents.

Applicants should attach the copies of the following Certificates/Documents.

  • Passing / Provisional Certificates along with Mark Sheets of the qualifying Examinations
  • School/College Leaving Certificate last attended. 
  • Conduct Certificate 
  • Anti-Ragging Affidavit 
  • Medical Fitness Certificate issued by a registered medical practitioner / government health centre.

CAREER OPPORTUNITIES
SBU is having an active placement cell working through out for maintaining good placement record. The placement cell is credited for taking active participation in selection of companies visiting the University for Campus recruitment. It is supported by active placement committee members who have rich industry experience and valuable linkages in the corporate world. To make the students corporate ready as per the specific requirement of Industry, mandatory workshops in personality development exercised have been introduced in the curriculum, in which students are trained for public speaking, presentations, self-assessment exercises, etc. Students are also able to opt internship program in their respective fields. Few career opportunities are as follows:

  • After diploma students have options to go in for specialized training. They have the option to select the area where they would like to receive training. However, it is always advisable to go for a BE/B.Tech course. There is an option to go through lateral entry for diploma holders, they can join directly in the 2nd year of engineering.
  • Today, the diploma holders are employed as Junior Engineers, Assistant Engineers, BPO sector and many public and private organizations. The Central and State Government of India provides a large number of opportunities to diploma holders.
