Overview

The 5-Year Integrated BA LL.B degree at Sarala Birla University will immerse you in the intricate study of Law in theory and practice. The program provides you with a comprehensive understanding of the Indian legal system. It covers the different legal institutions and procedures operating in India and explores how these systems fit together.

The B.A. LL.B. is a five-year integrated program consisting of law and humanities courses. Approved by the Bar Council of India, our B.A. LL.B. program covers the subjects, including History, Political Science, Economics, and Sociology, along with the in-depth study of law and legislature. A B.A. LL.B. qualification will aid the students to become accomplished professionals understanding the interface of Law and Society.

Studying for an undergraduate Law degree is an intellectually demanding, thought-provoking and exciting experience. Throughout the course, you will develop the ability to apply your learned knowledge to legal problems. 1. Programme Educational Objectives (PEOs)

  • PEO1: Student's gain an edge over other peers to lead and shape social and public enterprises such as the State, Community organization and Social Enterprises.
  • PEO2: Course curriculum facilitates learning Law in a profound way in response to contemporary development with hands on experience in legal knowledge and skills in value frame work in a fast changing India set in a de-globalizing world.

2. Programme Specific Outcomes (PSOs)

  • PSO1: The students would demonstrate strong commitment to ethical, moral and social values.
  • PSO2: The students will strive continuously towards professional excellence and development by keeping with the ever evolving legal environment and updating themselves with the advanced knowledge, tools, techniques, relevant to the careers and personal developments.

3. Programme Outcomes (POs)

After completing the BA. LL.B (H) course the students will have:

  • PO1: Application and learning of substantive and procedural laws, as also the drafting of pleadings such as institution of suit etc. and understanding of the legal setup.
  • PO2: Interpretation and analysing legal and social problems and for ensuring solutions to these problems by application of the necessary laws and rules.
  • PO3: Application of ethical principles and inculcate professional ethics, to undertake responsibilities and norms of the established legal practices.
  • PO4: Every student will become skilled in legal research, written and oral communication, teamwork, advocacy, and problem-solving.
  • PO5: To develop an attitude of self-reflection while learning & recognize the need for, and have the preparation and ability to engage in independent and life-long learning in the broadest context of changing legal contexts.
  • PO6: Improve cognitive skills, problem solving skills, analytical and independent critical thinking with enhanced research capabilities by using different pedagogical methods.
  • PO7: To make students eligible to practice in Courts, Industries, Companies as legal practitioner.
  • PO8: Cultivate the ability to appreciate the role of lawyers in justice education in a globalising world sensitive to the needs of sustainability, poverty and vulnerability.
  • PO9: Possess quality of critical legal thinking by Moot Court and Judgment reading especially minority judgments by utilizing the principles of scientific inquiry, thinking analytically, clearly and critically, while solving Legal problems.
  • PO10: By Studying law in the particular context of humanities and Social Sciences the students are groomed to respond to governance, administration and human behaviour.
  • PO11: Students study relevant subjects like History, Political Science, Sociology and General English. As part of this course, which improves their knowledge on relevant issues and provokes constructive thinking.
  • PO12: The combination of subjects Law and other subjects like History, Political Science, Sociology and General English will develop Social, political, historic, economic and literary consciousness and will be better able to appreciate different civilizations, culture.
