The Faculty of Engineering & Computer Sciences offers lateral entry directly in the second year of the four year graduate course in Engineering and Technology to the eligible candidate. This helps the deserving candidates to pursue their dream of getting in graduate course in Engineer and Technology because they had earlier taken a different path for their studies.

ABOUT THE PROGRAMME

Objectives

Graduates will become engineer in the industries associated with Engineering and professional engineers starting-up and growing their own new firms. They will become recognized experts working in government, consulting firms and international organizations around the country and around the world addressing some of the most challenging problems of our times.

Graduates will communicate proficiently and collaborate successfully with peers, colleagues and organizations.

Graduates will be ethical and responsible members of the computing profession and society.

Graduates will acquire necessary skills for research, higher studies, entrepreneurship and continued learning to adopt and create new applications.

Programme Outcome

Engineering Graduates will be able to:

  • Engineering knowledge: Apply the knowledge of mathematics, science,    engineering fundamentals, and an engineering specialization to the solution of complex engineering problems.
  • Problem analysis: Identify, formulate, review research literature, and analyze complex engineering problems reaching substantiated conclusions.
  • Design/development of solutions: Design solutions for complex engineering problems and design system components or processes that meet the specified needs with appropriate consideration for the public health and safety, and the cultural, societal, and environmental considerations.
  • Conduct investigations of complex problems: Use research-based knowledge and research methods including design of experiments, analysis and interpretation of data, and synthesis of the information to provide valid conclusions.
  • Modern tool usage: Create, select, and apply appropriate techniques, resources, and modern engineering and IT tools including prediction and modeling to complex engineering activities with an understanding of the limitations.
  • The engineer and society: Apply reasoning informed by the contextual knowledge to assess societal, health, safety, legal and cultural issues and the consequent responsibilities relevant to the professional engineering practice.
  • Environment and sustainability: Understand the impact of the professional engineering solutions in societal and environmental contexts, and demonstrate the knowledge of, and need for sustainable development.
  • Ethics: Apply ethical principles and commit to professional ethics and responsibilities and norms of the engineering practice.
  • Individual and team work: Function effectively as an individual, and as a member or leader in diverse teams, and in multidisciplinary settings.
  • Communication: Communicate effectively on complex engineering activities with the engineering community and with society at large, such as, being able to comprehend and write effective reports and design documentation, make effective presentations, and give and receive clear instructions.
  • Project management and finance: Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of the engineering and management principles and apply these to one's own work, as a member and leader in a team, to manage projects and in multidisciplinary environments.

ELIGIBILITY AND ADMISSION

Eligibility:

Diploma in Engineering with at least 50% marks OR Passed B.Sc. Degree from a recognized University as defined by UGC,with at least 50% marks and passed 10+2 examination with Mathematics as a subject. (05% relaxation in marks in case of candidates belonging to ST/SC category).

Admission Process

They may also download the application form from the website of the University and may submit along with the relevant documents to the Information Centre of the University. They may also walk down to the University campus along with relevant documents to the Information centre for counselling and further admission process.

Applicants may submit the application form and required documents at the Admission Office personally or by post. It is the applicant's responsibility to ensure that the application form is complete in all respects, and is accompanied by the required documents.

Applicants should attach the copies of the following Certificates/Documents.

  • Passing / Provisional Certificates along with Mark Sheets of the qualifying Examinations
  • School/College Leaving Certificate last attended
