The School of Engineering and Technology offers a four year graduate course in Engineering and Technology. The demand for engineering graduate from various branches/streams is always recognised globally. At present School of Engineering and Technology offers five branches: Computer Science and Engineering, Civil Engineering, Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering and Mechanical Engineering.

ABOUT THE PROGRAMME

Objectives

The students pursuing B.Tech. will be associated with Engineering and professional engineers starting-up and growing their own new firms. They will become experts in their respective fields, by working in government sectors, consulting firms and international organizations addressing some of the most challenging problems in real time.

The engineering graduates will acquire necessary skills for research, higher studies, entrepreneurship and continued learning to adopt and create new applications.

Programme Outcome

The programme outcomes of the engineering graduates are:

  • Engineering knowledge: Apply the knowledge of mathematics, science, engineering fundamentals, and an engineering specialization to the solution of complex engineering problems.
  • Problem analysis: Identify, formulate, review research literature, and analyze complex engineering problems reaching substantiated conclusions.
  • Design/development of solutions: Design solutions for complex engineering problems and design system components or processes that meet the specified needs with appropriate consideration for the public health and safety, and the cultural, societal, and environmental considerations.
  • Modern tool usage: Create, select, and apply appropriate techniques, resources, and modern engineering and IT tools including prediction and modeling to complex engineering activities with an understanding of the limitations.
  • The engineer and society: Apply reasoning informed by the contextual knowledge to assess societal, health, safety, legal and cultural issues and the consequent responsibilities relevant to the professional engineering practice.
  • Environment and sustainability: Understand the impact of the professional engineering solutions in societal and environmental contexts, and demonstrate the knowledge of, and need for sustainable development.
  • Ethics: Apply ethical principles and commit to professional ethics and responsibilities and norms of the engineering practice.
  • Individual and team work: Function effectively as an individual, and as a member or leader in diverse teams, and in multidisciplinary settings.
  • Project management and finance: Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of the engineering and management principles and apply these to one's own work, as a member and leader in a team, to manage projects and in multidisciplinary environments.
  • Life-long learning: Recognize the need for, and have the preparation and ability to engage in independent and life-long learning in the broadest context of technological change.

ELIGIBILITY AND ADMISSION

Eligibility

Passed 10+2 examination with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects along with one of the Chemistry/ Biotechnology/ Biology/ Technical Vocational subject. Obtained at least 45% marks (40% in case of candidates belonging to reserved category) in the above subjects taken together. Students appearing in (10+2 examination) may also apply

Note : The applicant must also appear in any of the national/ state level Engineering Entrance Test or the Entrance Test organized by SBU.

Admission Process

Aspirants can apply online at Apply Online. They may also download the application form from the website of the University and may submit along with the relevant documents to the Information Centre of the University. They may also walk down to the University campus along with relevant documents to the Information centre for counselling and further admission process.

Applicants may submit the application form and required documents at the Admission Office personally or by post. It is the applicant's responsibility to ensure that the application form is complete in all respects, and is accompanied by the required documents.

Applicants should attach the copies of the following Certificates/Documents.

  • Passing / Provisional Certificates along with Mark Sheets of the qualifying Examinations
  • School/College Leaving Certificate last attended. 
  • Conduct Certificate 
  • Anti-Ragging Affidavit 
  • Medical Fitness Certificate issued by a registered medical practitioner / government health centre.

CAREER OPPORTUNITIES
SBU is having an active placement cell working through out for maintaining good placement record. The placement cell is credited for taking active participation in selection of companies visiting the University for Campus recruitment. It is supported by active placement committee members who have rich industry experience and valuable linkages in the corporate world. To make the students corporate ready as per the specific requirement of Industry, mandatory workshops in personality development exercised have been introduced in the curriculum, in which students are trained for public speaking, presentations, self-assessment exercises, etc. Students are also able to opt internship program in their respective fields.
