MASTER OF TECHNOLOGY (M. TECH.) IN COMPUTER SCIENCE & ENGINEERING

The Department of Computer Science & Engineering of Sarala Birla University, Ranchi offers a two years full time Master of Technology in Computer Science Programme, with the aim of serving the increasing requirement for qualified professionals who could harness the resources of the country to achieve its developmental growth. The Department offers Master of Technology in Computer Science & Engineering to incline towards Industrial needs and research. In this programme, the latest technology such as Internet of Things, Industry 4.0, Cyber Security, Soft Computing, Deep Learning, Machine learning, Data Science, Advanced Communication Systems, Advance Software Designing, Real-time Systems, Cryptography, Genetic Algorithm and Artificial Intelligence have been focused. Also majority of the courses offered under these programmes will be focusing more on practical applications with Industry relevant case studies.

The vision of this programme is not alone focusing on the emerging areas, but also develop problem analysis and design skills of the students in the domain. Industry experts also will be involved in handling classes and students will be able to interact with different industry experts. The uniqueness of this programme is to encourage the students to undergo the Industrial problem based projects and research. Hence the students who are undertaking these programmes will gain knowledge in solving Industry based Problems and develop expertise in research and development to cater to needs of the society.

Why M.Tech in Computer Science from Sarala Birla University

Traditionally Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) teaching are focussed on two major areas, i.e., theories and systems (database, computer hardware, and operating systems). With the advent of the era of Cloud Computing, Edge Computing, AI and Big Data, the discipline is being transformed by incorporation of new and emerging technologies. Computing is becoming an instrument for solving major problems faced by modern society such as energy crisis, natural disasters, pollution, and water scarcity. Through this newly revamped M.Tech and programs in CSE, Sarala Birla University is making a conscious effort to move away from the traditional path and planning to reposition itself to become a leading institute in this new genre of Computer Science education.

Objectives

  • To be a centre of academic excellence and research in the field of Computer Science and Technology by imparting knowledge to students and facilitating research activities that cater the needs of industries and society.

Mentoring programme is designed for providing students a hand to help, guide and listen to them when needed. ELIGIBILITY AND ADMISSION

Eligibility

Passed Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in the relevent field. Obtained at least 50% marks in the qualifying examination. (05% relaxation in marks in case of candidates belonging to ST/SC category).

Admission Process
