Caste Based Discrimination Committee of Sarala Birla University, Ranchi
In accordance with the order issued by the University Grants Commission, New Delhi, regarding prevention of Caste Based Discrimination in Higher Education, to lodge complaints against the instances of Caste Based Discrimination, Sarala Birla University, Ranchi has formed a committee helping the staff members and students from caste based discriminations by the teaching and non-teaching staff of the University against the SC/ST/OBC students on the grounds of their social origin.
Caste Based Discrimination complaint system provides a platform for the concerned authorities to curb caste- based discrimination at the University and to maintain an environment of social equality.
Objectives of the Caste Based Discrimination Committee
- This committee will look after the related matters (if any) of depriving a student/staff or group of students on the basis of caste, creed, language, ethnicity, gender, different ability.
- This committee will always try to uphold the dignity of the University by addressing the case based discrimination concerns (if any) brought into the notice (of the committee) related to equality in offering or receiving education inside and around the campus.
- This committee protects the rights of individuals (SC/ST/OBC students/Teachers/ Staff) without any prejudice to their appearance or lifestyle the process of learning inside the campus.
- This committee shall eliminate discrimination against or harassment of any individual in all forms by prohibiting it and by providing preventive and protective measures to facilitate its eradication punishments for those who indulge in any form of discrimination or harassment.
